For the 50th anniversary of the Scorpions: "Savage Amusement" remastered
in 2015, the Scorpions celebrate their 50th anniversary. On the occasion of their band's birthday, they have therefore come up with something very special for their fans: the "50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition". In this edition, the Scorpions are re-releasing a series of different studio and live albums. For this, the band has also pulled numerous previously unreleased tracks, including rare live recordings, alternative versions of their songs and rough mixes from their archives.
Savage Amusement", the Scorpions' tenth studio album, will also be released in 2015 in a remastered special edition consisting of LP and CD or CD and DVD.
in 1988, the album was first released and included a total of nine songs in the first version. The revised version now also contains six more previously unreleased tracks, which the band itself selected for the release.
In addition to the CD, there is a bonus DVD that contains video clips as well as some documentaries. Among other things, it shows the band's trip to Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), where the Scorpions were the first Western rock band ever to perform in the spring of 1988. The film is rounded off with an interview in which the band explains the genesis of the album.
Like all albums from the anniversary series, "Savage Amusement" is also available as LP with additional CD and features a 16-page booklet with new liner notes by former Metal Hammer editor-in-chief Edgar Klüsener, photos as well as images of backstage passes and rare single covers.
