Scorpions - Wind Of Change: The Iconic Song - Vinly + CD Boxset
The Scorpions celebrate 30 years of "Wind of Change," one of the best-selling singles of all time, with an exclusive box set. "Wind of Change: The Iconic Song" is dedicated solely to Klaus Meine's power ballad, which, inspired by the experience of playing at the Moscow Music Peace Festival in 1989, embodies the feeling of hope, a spirit of optimism and the prospect of a better future, and became the soundtrack for the end of the Cold War.
The box set in brick-look includes an 84-page hardcover book with an essay by Edgar Klüsener, the former editor-in-chief of "Metalhammer" and close confidant of the band. Exclusively for this, he conducted an interview with Klaus Meine and writes about the genesis and the impact of the song. Included in the book are the first handwritten lyrics to "Wind of Change" by Klaus Meine and numerous pages of photographic material by band photographer Didi Zill and from Klaus Meine's private archive.
In addition to the book, the box set includes a "Wind of Change" arrangement for piano and vocals, as well as five versions of the ballad on CD and vinyl: the original album version, the Berlin Philharmonic version, the Russian version, the Spanish version and a previously unreleased, still secret version of the hymn to the fall of the Berlin Wall.
